Translating Search Strategies from PubMed to Embase for Systematic Reviews

Date
Mar 25, 2026
Time
12 p.m. - 1 p.m. ET

Join us for an interactive workshop to learn how to translate PubMed searches to Embase searches. This session will provide you with the skills to identify the similarities and differences between PubMed and Embase and how to construct similar searches, which is particularly helpful when developing search strategies for systematic or scoping reviews.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Synonym searching in PubMed
  • Synonym searching in Embase
  • Components needed to translate the PubMed search to an Embase search
  • How to ensure comprehensiveness of systematic review searches

Some familiarity with advanced searching for EBP projects or systematic/scoping reviews is helpful, but the workshop is open to all students, faculty, and staff members.

Please note: This workshop will not be recorded, so come prepared to engage and ask questions!

If you require an accommodation such as live captioning or interpretation to participate in this event, please contact Sarah Norman at sarah.norman@osumc.edu or (614) 292-4861. Requests made by Wednesday, March 18 will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
