In addition to health sciences resources, the Health Sciences Library offers other features to help make your visit more productive and comfortable.

Flexible-use, Privacy-On-Demand, single-user soundproof booths for phone calls and video conferencing, located on Health Sciences Library floors 1 and 3.
Usage Guidelines
- Usage is first come, first served (no advance reservations).
- Occupancy is limited to one individual at a time.
- POD usage is limited to 60 minutes at a time.
- Tidy up the POD for the next user.
- If you'd prefer to reserve a space, study rooms can be reserved in advance on the HSL website at go.osu.edu/Schedule-A-Room.
The Health Sciences Library has three FitDesks (bike desks) to help you stay active while you work:
- 1st Floor: One FitDesk near the restroom entrance
- 2nd Floor: Two FitDesks near the OT/PT practice room
Each bike desk is equipped with a work surface, making it easy for you to get some exercise while also completing your studying or other work. Research has shown that exercise bikes can improve mental health and help you maintain your fitness goals even when other priorities compete.
Usage Guidelines:
- No reservations required
- No time limits—just be courteous to others who may want a turn
- Usage guidelines and instructions are posted near each desk
So take a "spin" on a bike desk the next time you're at the library! Work your legs while you work your mind—it's a win-win!
Printers
- Print requests can be sent via "Follow Me" printing using a personal device or from a public computer at the library.
- Public printers are available on the first floor of the library. BuckID is the only system of payment for printing.
- Single-sided black and white prints are 6 cents per page; color prints are 20 cents per page.
- Double-sided black and white prints are 12 cents per page; color prints are 40 cents per page.
“Follow Me” Printing
"Follow Me" printing requests can be sent to HSL printers using a personal device or from a public computer available at the library. "Follow Me" printing information and instructions are available from the UniPrint website. Alternatively, printers are located in additional locations around campus and are available for student, staff and faculty use.
Copiers
The Health Sciences Library has a photocopier on the first floor. BuckID is the only system of payment for copying.
- Single-sided black and white copies are 6 cents per page; color copies are 20 cents per page.
- Double-sided black and white copies are 12 cents per page; color copies are 40 cents per page.
- Use the copier as a scanner and email documents at no charge.
BuckID Deposit Options
BuckID account holders can add additional funds online with a payment card through the BuckID deposits webpage. Cash deposits are only accepted at the BuckID office. For more information visit the BuckID website or call (614) 292-0400.
The lost and found for the Health Sciences Library is located at the Public Services Desk on the first floor.
For items lost or found inside the library, contact:
- The Public Services Desk by stopping by or calling (614) 292-4861
- If you believe the missing item has been stolen, contact University Police at (614) 292-2121
Any items unclaimed after 90 days will be removed from the lost and found and donated, reused or disposed of as appropriate. After 90 days, unclaimed chargers will be made available to library customers. The library is not responsible for any damage from use of the unclaimed chargers.

The Health Sciences Library has a limited number of individual lockers available on the 3rd floor. Lockers can be checked out; please review locker guidelines and policy below. Keys are kept at the front desk and will be checked out to your library account (i.e., you must have an active library account to check out a locker). Checking out a locker key means that you agree to comply with all locker guidelines and policy.
3rd Floor Lockers... DOs and DON’Ts
- DO remove all your belongings from the locker before returning the key
- DO leave locker locked when returning the key
- DO return the locker key by library close on the due date
- DON'T place 2-hour reserve materials, such as library reserve textbooks, bones and models, etc. in lockers
- DON'T keep food and beverages in lockers
Located on the Health Sciences Library’s 3rd floor (Prior 360E), this quiet space is open to all for meditation, reflection or yoga practice. No reservations needed.
Located on the 3rd floor of the Health Sciences Library, the Silent Study Zone is the space for truly focused, distraction-free studying. Designed for students who need maximum concentration, this area offers a nearly silent environment where like-minded individuals can work without interruptions. Even the study carrels are constructed with sound-absorbing materials to help maintain a calm atmosphere.
Room Features:
- Brightly lit space with comfortable mobile chairs
- Carrels feature high walls for privacy while allowing natural light
- Each carrel includes electrical and USB outlets plus individual lighting
The zone’s physical separation from other third-floor spaces ensures a super-quiet environment. Please note: this area is not intended as overflow from the Quiet Study Zone. All users are expected to follow Silent Study etiquette to preserve the integrity of this space.
