The Health Sciences Library (HSL) is full of amenities that promote wellness.
"Looking out for your physical and mental well-being is essential to success for students, faculty and staff, but finding time and space to incorporate self-care into a busy day can be a challenge, especially for those in the health sciences,” said Katherine Hoffman, public services manager.
Privacy-On-Demand (POD) Booths
Privacy-On-Demand booths, more commonly known as PODs for short, are located on the first and third floors. These private, quiet environments offer a place to step away from busy public areas, whether you need a moment of focus, a confidential phone conversation, a telehealth appointment or simply a space free from distractions.
If you anticipate needing more than an hour, require space for multiple occupants or wish to reserve a specific time, we recommend booking a study room on the third floor instead.

FitDesks for Exercise
Did you know that exercise bikes can improve your mental health and help you maintain your fitness goals, even when you have competing priorities? The HSL offers three FitDesk bike desks for you to exercise your mind and body. Each FitDesk is equipped with a work surface.

Meditation Room
Located on the third floor, this quiet room is open to all for meditation, reflection or yoga practice. You do not need a reservation to relax and reconnect to yourself in this room. The yoga mats, meditation cushions, prayer rugs and blankets welcome you into this space.

Plan Your Visit
The HSL is here to help you succeed in your wellness journey and academics. Plan your visit today, and look at our floor plans in advance to help you find these amenities.
