Mobile Apps

All library databases are accessible on a mobile device using any web browser. There are a handful of databases which offer mobile Apps which have been licensed by the library or the medical center.

Follow the instructions below to download and activate those apps while on the OSU network or signed in using the off campus access.
 

UpToDate app logo

Find clinical answers at the point of care or anywhere you need them with the UpToDate App.

  1. Access UpToDate from the library website and register for a free personal account.

  2. Download and install the UpToDate app from your device's App Store.

  3. Launch the App and enter your UpToDate username and password when prompted.  
     

UpToDate LexiDrug app logo

The UpToDate LexiDrug (Formerly Lexicomp) App provides comprehensive clinical drug information.

  1. Connect to Ohio State's subscription to UpToDate LexiDrug.  
     
  2. Select the blue "Mobile Access Codes" button in the lower right corner of the website, choose your mobile device platform and customer type from the drop down lists.
     
  3. Follow the customized instructions to install and activate the mobile app.

     
Browzine app logo

The BrowZine App allows you to find, read, and monitor scholarly journals by creating a personalized bookshelf of your favorite journals and saving PDF articles to read at your convenience.

  1. Download the BrowZine App from the App Store.

  2. Open the BrowZine App and select Ohio State University as your library.

  3. Enter your OSU internet username (name.#) and password for access to OSU subscribed journals. 

     

Access by McGraw Hill app logo

The Access - by McGraw Hill App provides access to content from the Access Medical collections (AccessMedicine, AccessEmergencyMedicine, AccessPharmacy, AccessPhysiotherapy, and AccessSurgery) including books, videos and other multimedia, cases, review Q&A, images, infographics, diagnostic tools, and new personalization features.

  1. Connect to AccessMedicine or one of the other McGraw Hill Access databases from the library website's Databases page, and register for a free MyAccess account.

  2. Download and install the Access - by McGraw Hill App from the iOS or Android App Store.

  3. Launch the App and enter your MyAccess username and password when prompted. 

     

VisualDx app logo

VisualDx combines high-quality, peer-reviewed medical images with concise information to support clinical staff and health sciences students in the accurate recognition and management of disease. Customers can input visual clues, symptoms, and patient history to help make a correct diagnosis.

  1. Connect to VisualDx from the campus or medical center network and select the "Activate Personal Account" link under "My VisualDx" to register for a free personal account. 

  2. Download and install the VisualDx App from the iOS or Android App Store.

  3. Launch the App and enter your personal account username and password to login.
     

BoardVitals App logo

BoardVitals is a powerful exam review tool with access to review questions and practice tests for USMLE Step 1, 2, and 3 and shelf exams for seven medical specialties targeted for use during clerkship rotations.  

  1. Register or Log in at this link or use the "Create an account" option from the sign in screen to register for an account using your osu.edu or osumc.edu email address
     
  2. Download the BoardVitals App from the App Store. 
     
  3. Launch the app and enter your account username and password to login.
     
StateRef app logo

Stat!Ref App provides access to subscribed books including AHFS Drug Information, Taber’s Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary, Davis’s Drug Guide for Nurses, and more.

  1. Download the Stat!Ref App from the App Store.

  2. While on the OSU network, connect to Stat!Ref. Select Profile at the top of the website and select "Register" to create a free personal account.  

  3. Log in to the Stat!Ref website using your personal account.  Select the arrow next to "Welcome, your name" and select "Anywhere Login Account" from the list of options.  Click the button to activate or renew your account as a temporary TDS login.  

  4. Launch the app and log in using your personal account.
     

 
ClinicalKey app logo

The ClinicalKey App provides access to full-text books, journals, guidelines, images, videos and more.

  1. Access ClinicalKey from the library website and create a free personal account.

  2. Download and install the ClinicalKey app from the App Store or Google Play Store.

  3. Launch the app and enter your ClinicalKey username and password when prompted.
