Bio

HSL liaison librarian for:

  • College of Medicine – Basic Science

Kaylie Vermillion is research librarian at The Ohio State University Health Sciences Library (HSL) as part of the Research and Education department, focusing on services and support to basic science researchers. Prior to joining the HSL, Kaylie worked at the Ohio State Moritz College of Law library as circulation and operations manager. While at the Moritz College of Law, Kaylie led the circulation department, managed interlibrary loan services and provided reference assistance to law students, faculty and members of the public. She previously worked as reference and instruction librarian at Columbus State Community College and has experience working at the Ohio History Connection.

Kaylie also teaches the General Education (GE) bookend seminar classes, guiding students through a meaningful exploration to identify and define their academic and career goals. These bookend seminars serve as both an entry and exit point for their GE experience. During the Launch Seminar, students define their academic and career goals, while the Reflection Seminar encourages them to reflect on their learning across all GE courses and showcase their growth through projects and presentations. Through these courses, students develop intercultural knowledge, build skills for responsible citizenship and embark on a path toward educational success.

Kaylie holds a Master of Library and Information Science from Kent State University, a Master of Arts in Public Policy and Management from Ohio State and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Ohio State.
