Judith Wiener, MA, MLIS
Bio
Judith A. Wiener, MA, MLIS, is professor and associate director for collections and outreach at The Ohio State University Health Sciences Library. She oversees the library’s resource management, Medical Heritage Center and Library for Health Information departments. She manages the HSL's affiliate relationship with Nationwide Children’s Hospital library, oversees library development efforts and Partner Outreach Program (POP) designation with the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) office for Region 6 and is a member of the HSL’s executive team.
Wiener is the current chair of the Health Humanities Caucus of the Medical Library Association (MLA) and is a member of the Association of Academic Health Sciences Library (AAHSL) Assessment and Statistics Committee. A frequent presenter at conferences, she has served in leadership positions within various state and national librarian, historical and archival organizations. Wiener earned a BA in history at Wheeling Jesuit University, an MA in history with a concentration in public history at Wright State University, and an MLIS from Kent State University. Her current research and publication interests include library administrative issues, health humanities, ethical, legal and privacy issues within special collections, and health sciences library outreach. Wiener joined the HSL faculty in 2006 and previously worked for Wright State University and the National Park Service.
