Health Sciences Library librarians provide specialized health sciences research and education support. Request assistance by contacting your college's liaison librarian directly or submitting your question using our Request Librarian Assistance form.
Liaison Librarians
A liaison librarian is a professional librarian who acts as a link between the HSL and a specific health sciences specialty/college. Liaison librarians can partner with faculty, staff, students and clinicians to support teaching and research endeavors, as well as provide instructional sessions. The HSL has liaison librarians for the Colleges of Optometry, Dentistry, Public Health, Medicine (including the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences) and Nursing at The Ohio State University.

Customized Instructional Sessions
HSL librarians can provide customized instruction sessions based on the information needs of the Ohio State health sciences community and/or your curriculum needs. Please complete the Request Librarian Assistance form and select the "Customized Instructional Sessions Inquiry" option on the form for more information or to request a session with one of our librarians.
General Inquiries
In addition to the forms on our website, there are several other ways to contact the HSL.
By phone
Call the Public Services Desk at (614) 292-4861. If your question requires more in-depth assistance, you will be referred to a librarian or other appropriate library employee. You may also contact your liaison librarian directly.
In person or virtually
Public Services staff are available all normal operating hours to assist with basic requests such as space/model reservations, accessing databases and full text journal articles, and basic search functions.
Librarians provide more in-depth health sciences-related consultations and are available by appointment only. To schedule an appointment with a librarian, contact your college's/school's HSL liaison librarian or submit an inquiry to our Request Librarian Assistance form. Same day appointments are not always possible or available.
