Today's Hours:

Making the Most of Your Health Sciences Library

Prior Hall, brick campus building with tall narrow windows at a street corner, with trees along the sidewalk
Date
Sep 11, 2026
Time
12 p.m. - 1 p.m. ET

When thinking of the Health Sciences Library (HSL), you might imagine a collection of health sciences books and journals, but did you know that the HSL also has virtual reality equipment? Certified medical illustrators? And a room stocked with yoga mats and meditation pillows?

Join us to learn more about the library and some of its lesser-known spaces, resources, and services.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Extended Library Access (ELA)
  • Unique HSL spaces for study, meditation, and more
  • Bones, models, and equipment available for checkout
  • Research support
  • Medical visuals services, including poster printing, medical illustration, and graphic design
  • EdTech Incubator's virtual reality, 3D printing, and recording zones
  • Special collections of the Medical Heritage Center
  • Some lesser-known e-resources

Previous experience using the HSL is not required. This workshop is ideal for anyone new to Ohio State and/or the Health Sciences Library.

Please note, this workshop will not be recorded.

If you require an accommodation such as live captioning or interpretation to participate in this event, please contact Sarah Norman at sarah.norman@osumc.edu or (614) 292-4861. Requests made by Friday, September 4 will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
