Attending vascular surgeon; author and medical historian; former Ohio State Medical Heritage Center Scholar-in-Residence
Dr. Charles R. Drew was a visionary figure in blood transfusion research and, as Chair of Surgery at Howard University, one of the seminal figures in the establishment of African American physicians in American medicine. This lecture, based on a biography written with Dr. Drew's daughter, will explore his personal and professional life as well as his ongoing legacy.
