Arthur G. James: A Mission to Erase Cancer

Arthur G. James: A Mission to Erase Cancer

Arthur G. James, MD (1921 – 2001) dedicated his life to the pursuit of erasing cancer.

From a modest upbringing in Ohio to having a cancer hospital named after him, Arthur G. James will always be remembered as a dedicated voice in the field of cancer research and treatment. Even a 43-month service in the Army Medical Corps that interrupted his post-residency fellowship couldn't deter him from continuing his pursuit of knowledge, and all cancer patients are forever indebted to his commitment.

This new Medical Heritage Center (MHC) digital exhibit brings to life James' significant contributions to the medical field, with information and images from the MHC archives and artifact collection.

The exhibit was curated by the MHC, and conceptualized and designed by Medical Illustrator Courtney Chenock, Medical Visuals. We encourage you to scroll through the exhibit to learn more about James' life and perhaps to explore the suggested further reading.

You are welcome to include this digital exhibit in whole or in part in your scholarly research, website or publication. While no copyright acknowledgments are required for use, we request that you include the following suggested text: "The Arthur G. James digital exhibit was created by the Medical Heritage Center at The Ohio State University Health Sciences Library."

This exhibit was made possible by funding from the Arthur G. James, MD, Library Fund (#318179).
