The HSL is proud to share that two of our marketing pieces received American Library Association (ALA) PR Xchange awards. PR Xchange recognizes library marketing deliverables that demonstrate exceptional creativity and innovation. Winners were selected from more than 334 print and digital entries by a jury of 25 virtual judges. All entries were invited to display materials in the PR Xchange hall at the ALA conference in San Diego in June 2024.

The HSL submitted four entries for consideration. The two pieces selected for awards were:

Missy Creed Honored as One of Ten 2025 ALA "I Love My Librarian" Award Recipients

The HSL’s consumer health librarian, Missy Creed, was named one of ten recipients of the 2025 American Library Association (ALA) “I Love My Librarian” Award. She was chosen from nearly 1,300 nominations for her tireless work in health outreach and education as the sole librarian for the HSL’s Library for Health Information (LHI).

Missy’s efforts allow her to bring critical health information to more than 1,000 members of the public at large annually through community health fairs, partnerships with Ohio State and Wexner Medical Center units and other similar opportunities, with an emphasis on traditionally underserved populations. Missy empowers people to start conversations with their health care providers and to make informed decisions about their health and care options.
