A liaison librarian is a professional librarian who acts as a link between the library and a specific audience. Liaison librarians can partner with faculty, staff and students to support teaching and research endeavors, as well as provide instructional sessions. 

Liaisons can: 

• assist with search strategy development and refinement to find relevant journal and research literature in biomedical databases
• recommend resources to meet your particular information needs
• provide instructional sessions to classes, clinical groups/departments, or other groups on searching the literature, managing citations, accessing library resources, and using information to support an evidence-based approach
• provide consultation on topics related to basic copyright issues, research impact metrics such as citation counts and h-index, open access options, and public access mandates
• refer you to other helpful library services to support research, education, and patient care
