Basic Search Strategy Development Workshop

Wednesday, February 5
5 – 6 p.m. EST
Online Workshop led by Anna Biszaha, Assistant Professor, HSL Research and Education Librarian

Join us for an introduction to developing a search strategy.  There are several basic principles to keep in mind when creating a search strategy, regardless of what database you are using, and this workshop will provide you with the general skills needed to apply these principles in a variety of scenarios.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Steps to plan out your search
  • PICO framework
  • Developing search terms
  • Boolean operators
  • Selecting a database

Previous searching experience is not required.  This workshop is ideal for students, faculty, or staff new to literature searching, as well as those with some experience but looking for a refresher.

If you require an accommodation such as live captioning or interpretation to participate in this event, please contact Judy Gregory at judith.gregory@osumc.edu or (614) 292-4861. Requests made by Wednesday, January 29 will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
