HSL Presents at 2022 COM Annual Education Symposium
The 2022 College of Medicine Annual Education Symposium took place on January 26, 2022 as a virtual event sponsored by the Office of Curriculum and Scholarship in collaboration with the College of Medicine and the Center for Faculty Advancement, Mentoring and Engagement.
This year’s theme was "Eliminating Bias & Fostering Inclusion in Health Sciences Curricula." Subtopics included "Integrating Disability into Healthcare Education;" "Race-Conscious Educational Research;" and "Teaching Future Health Sciences Students Virtually."
The Health Sciences Library team of Kerry Dhakal, Kaitlyn Feyh and Lynda Hartel submitted an abstract titled "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Resource Guides: Partnering for Success" that was accepted in early December. The featured poster covers the Antiracism LibGuide as well as some specific book usage on this guide. It also briefly discusses the upcoming LGBTQIA+ LibGuide. Overall, the poster highlights the guides and how our team went about creating them. For example, how we came about including certain materials and that we are open to feedback on the guide.
