Workshop: Using Web of Science and Scopus to Report Quality Indicators in Dossiers (Virtual)
Using Web of Science and Scopus to Report Quality Indicators in Dossiers
Friday, April 8
12 p.m. – 1 p.m. EDT
Online Workshop led by Stephanie Schulte, Associate Professor, Assistant Director, HSL Research and Education Librarian
Join us for a workshop focused on using two databases to articulate metrics that can be part of the quality indicators section of the faculty dossier. This workshop will demonstrate how to extract data from Web of Science and Scopus and will also include discussion about the differences between these two sources as well as data in Google Scholar.
Topics to be covered include:
- Conducting author searches in Web of Science and Scopus
- Exporting the data for your records
- Comparing and contrasting Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar
- Understanding impact factors and h-index metrics
Previous experience with Web of Science or Scopus is not necessary. We will not cover anything related to data entry into Vita. This workshop is ideal for faculty going up for promotion and/or their assistants helping with their dossiers.
This workshop will not be recorded, but slides will be shared with participants.
If you require accommodation such as live captioning or interpretation to participate in this event, please contact Katherine Hoffman at katherine.hoffman@osumc.edu or (614) 292-4861. Requests made by Friday, April 8 will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
