Workshop: Searching the EMBASE Database (Virtual)
Searching the EMBASE Database
Wednesday, April 20
12 p.m. – 1 p.m. EDT
Online Workshop led by Kerry Dhakal, Assistant Professor, HSL Research and Education Librarian
Join us for an introduction to searching in EMBASE. This database is one of the top resources to search for almost any health science topic, and the workshop will provide an overview of how to best use this system.
Topics to be covered include:
- What is EMBASE?
- How do you access the database and perform a basic search?
- What are EMTREE terms?
- How do you access your search results?
- How do you filter searches?
- How do you use the PICO search tool?
Previous EMBASE experience is not required. This workshop is ideal for students, faculty, or staff new to EMBASE, as well as those with some experience but looking for a refresher.
Please note, this workshop will not be recorded. Participants can request a one-on-one consultation with the presenter/librarian, Kerry Dhakal, post-workshop, with additional questions or guidance.
If you require accommodation such as live captioning or interpretation to participate in this event, please contact Katherine Hoffman at katherine.hoffman@osumc.edu or (614) 292-4861. Requests made by Wednesday, April 13 will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
