Workshop: Developing Their Expertise: Health Science Students and Gen AI (Virtual)
Developing Their Expertise: Health Science Students and Gen AI Workshop
Tuesday, March 3
Noon – 1 p.m. EST
Online Workshop led by Katie Blocksidge, Associate Professor, Head, Research and Education Services
Students are asked to explore the potential benefits and limitations of common AI tools in the context of their discipline as part of the AI Fluency Initiative. How can we develop instruction and assignments that support health science students as they apply their developing disciplinary knowledge to the evaluation and application of Gen AI tools?
Join us for a collaborative workshop where we will discuss instructional approaches encouraging students to critically engage with GenAI using their disciplinary knowledge.
Topics to be covered include:
- Generative AI and the Novice – Expert Gap
- How students report using GenAI
- Transferring disciplinary expertise to Gen AI use cases
This workshop is ideal for instructional faculty who are interested in incorporating discussions of GenAI in their courses.
Please note: This workshop will not be recorded, so come prepared to engage and ask questions!
