Basic Literature Searching Workshop
Tuesday, February 6
10 a.m. – 11 a.m. EST
Online Workshop led by Kaitlyn Feyh, HSL Research and Education Librarian
Join us for an introduction to the process of developing a search strategy. There are several basic principles to keep in mind when creating a search strategy, regardless of what database you are using, and this workshop will provide you with the general skills needed to apply these principles in a variety of scenarios.
Topics to be covered include:
- Steps to plan out your search
- PICO framework
- Developing search terms
- Boolean operators
- Selecting a database
Previous searching experience is not required. This workshop is ideal for students, faculty, or staff new to literature searching, as well as those with some experience but looking for a refresher.
This workshop will not be recorded, but the tutorial will be shared with participants.
If you require an accommodation such as live captioning or interpretation to participate in this event, please contact Judy Gregory at Judith.Gregory@osumc.edu or (614) 292-4861. Requests made by Tuesday, January 30th will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
