July is Skin Awareness Month

<--- Return to National Health Observances

July is Skin Awareness Month. Your skin is your body's largest organ. It covers and protects your body.

Did you know...

  • Skin holds body fluids in, preventing dehydration.
  • Skin keeps harmful microbes out, preventing infections.
  • Skin helps you feel things like heat, cold and pain.
  • Skin keeps your body temperature even.
  • Skin makes vitamin D when the sun shines on it.
