October is National Medical Librarians Month. Celebrate with us and learn about how each of the HSL librarians support OSU students, faculty, and staff:
Lynda Hartel – Assistant Vice President, Health Sciences, Director, and Associate Professor
With a commitment to the success of our medical and health sciences students, faculty, and staff, Lynda works to set and advocate for HSL priorities, guide strategies, assess services and resources, foster employee development, and advance our campus partnerships.
Judy Wiener – Associate Director, Collections and Outreach, and Associate Professor
Oversees and helps set the strategic direction for all HSL print, electronic, and historical collections and collection-related services. Judy is the liaison to the HSL-affiliated libraries at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, University Hospitals East, and the Library for Health Information (OSUWMC’s consumer health library). She also leads HSL outreach library services and programs.
Stephanie Schulte, Assistant Director, Research and Education Services, and Associate Professor
Oversees librarian educational and research support efforts across the health sciences, provides customized support to medical faculty, students, and clinical staff related to clinical questions, research projects, systematic literature searches, and research impact questions for promotion and tenure, teaches the required course Mastering the Biomedical Literature in the Biomedical Science undergraduate major, and participates in the Evidence Based Inquiry and Research thread throughout the medical school curriculum.
Kerry Dhakal - Research & Education Librarian, and Assistant Professor
Serves the College of Nursing and clinical nurses and chaplains working at the Wexner Medical Center and James Cancer Hospital. Kerry teaches information literacy, Evidence-Based Practice and research strategies and conducts research on librarianship roles in nursing education.

Responsible for researching, identifying, and deploying technology solutions which facilitate library and user access to information resources. These activities include networking, information systems infrastructure, and desktop and mobile device support. He also oversees the HSL's marketing ancd communication activities. Serves as the HSL’s liaison to the Wexner Medical Center’s Information Technology Department and the campus' Office of the Chief Information Officer (oCIO).

Anna Biszaha – Research & Education Services Librarian, and Assistant Professor
Assists students, faculty, and staff across the health sciences with their library research endeavors. Provides instruction on a variety of HSL resources and search techniques through one-on-one consultations, class presentations, and virtual reference. Serves as the Liaison Librarian to the College of Dentistry.

Joe Payne – Collection Development Librarian
Manages access to the HSL’s print and electronic resource collections including more than 6,200 eJournals, 11,500 eBooks, and 93 databases in health sciences subject areas.

Kristin Rodgers – Collections Curator
Acquires, manages, and provides access to the Medical Heritage Center collections (rare books, archives, and artifacts).
