HSL Resources Support Virtual Learning

The Health Sciences Library provides access to electronic books, databases, journals and more that can be used to support virtual learning.  This page provides helpful information and tips for using these resources.

Remote access:

Using Databases and eBooks for Classes:

  • All resources on the Health Sciences Database list with the exception of the American Heart Association eBook Collection (limited to 9 users at a time) are available to an unlimited number of simultaneous users.
  • Most eBooks are available to an unlimited number of users however there are several that are more limited.  Limitations on individual eBooks vary and are usually specified within the link text from eBook records in the Library Catalog.  Information on finding eBooks and tips for using limited access eBooks are available from the HSL website.

Subject Guides:

  • HSL Librarians have developed subject guides on a variety of topics that bring together a curated list of library resources by subject.  The full list of guides is available at https://hslguides.osu.edu

Interlibrary Services:

Purchase Recommendations:

  • Use the HSL Purchase Recommendation Form to recommend purchase of resources that are not currently available through the HSL.  Purchase decisions are based on a variety of factors including library budget, cost, and availability of items.
