Here are answers to common questions related to accessing Prior Hall and Library Resources while COVID-19 health precautions remain in place. These FAQs will be updated as COVID health guidelines are updated per CDC and other guidelines.

Q: Who can I contact if I don't know if I have access to the library?

Q: There's no food allowed in the library right now. Where can I go to eat near the library?
A: All OSU students, faculty and staff may access the library via card swipe access. Each person entering the library must swipe his/her/their own ID; do not ask others to let you in. More information about access is on our reopening page.

A: All OSU students, faculty and staff may access the library via card swipe access. Questions about accessing Prior Hall should be sent to hslaccess@osumc.edu.

Q: I don’t have access to the library, but I need to pick up a book on hold. What do I do?
A: Please call (614) 292-4861 (the number is posted on the front door) when you arrive to pick up your materials. Have your BuckID or Medical Center badge ready.

Q: Can I quickly come into the library to print something if I don’t have access?
A: Our public computer and printing stations on the 1st and 4th floors are available for use. A BuckID is required for printing. Please check this site for other campus public computer options. UniPrint also has additional printing options available.
Q: I have a book to return. Can I come into the library to get a check-in receipt?

Q: I returned a book two days ago, on the due date. Why did I receive an overdue notice email?
A: If you believe the overdue notice is in error, you can confirm due dates for your Ohio State University Libraries, OhioLINK and Search Ohio items by logging in to My Library Account. Please see our Circulation FAQ for more information.
A: As of late 2019, there are no longer public access book stacks in Prior Hall. Items are available for request through the Library Catalog for delivery to any campus library or office location. Items from remote storage locations may take 1 – 2 business days or longer for delivery. Journal articles and book chapters can also be scanned and delivered electronically by request through Interlibrary Services. Please see Print Resources for more information.
Q: There's no food allowed in the library right now. Where can I go to eat near the library?
A: As of June 24, in alignment with university guidelines, food is allowed in the library.
