May is National Mental Health Month

May 1, 2019

May is National Mental Health Month according to the National Health Observances from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Library for Health Information has plenty of reliable information on what you need to know about mental health. Did you know that according to the Journal of Environmental Psychology (2014) people who do things in nature have better perceptions of their own emotional well-being? Did you know that people who feel they have a good work-life balance are more satisfied with their job and their life, and experience fewer symptoms of depression and anxiety (Journal of Vocational Behavior, 2014)? Did you know that humor can lift moods and help people to better deal with difficult experiences?

Stop by and pick up some free handouts from our information board located directly outside the Library for Health Information. We are located on the 5th floor atrium of Rhodes Hall. Can’t find what you are looking for on the board? Come inside! We have plenty more resources. Don’t have time to stop by? Contact us by phone at 614-293-3707 or by email at health-info@osu.edu and we will send the information to you.

The library will research any health related topic and provide you easy to understand, reliable information on your topic. All information is confidential. The Library for Health Information serves The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center employees, patients and their families as well as students of The Ohio State University and the public.

The library will be observing a different National Health Observance each month.  Stop by or contact us to see the resources we have available to you!
