Interlibrary Services and Elec (Job Opening 413202) - Library Associate 2 to serve as the Interlibrary and Electronic Resources Coordinator overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of Interlibrary Services for the Health Sciences Library; plans, coordinates and supervises interlibrary loan (ILL) borrowing, lending and document delivery processes and fulfillment of services; evaluates ILL processes and identifies areas in need of adjustment; researches and identifies new methods and procedures and recommends implementation; provides technical equipment expertise for interlibrary transfers; serves as primary contact for library electronic resources and problem resolution of issues with health sciences electronic books and journals; routinely reviews electronic book and journal collections and updates records and holdings to reflect changes in access; digitizes materials in the Health Sciences Libraries collections as needed; supervises students; develops student work schedules and assigns work; trains students and staff in appropriate processes and procedures; performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Required: High school diploma or equivalent certificate; 600 hrs training or 6 months of experience in library practices & procedures; 100 hrs training in management/supervision or 1 month experience or equivalent; Desired: At least 2 yrs experience in library practices & procedures preferred; experience searching library catalogs; knowledge of OCLC WorldShare, National Library of Medicine's DOCLINE system, & document delivery management systems preferred; knowledge of current digital imaging technology specifically to capture, delivery, and curation desired; knowledge of metadata schema desired; Requires successful completion of a background check.
